Cambrian Park Plaza Plans Push Ahead

We know we aren’t supposed to have favorites… but we admit that the West San Jose neighborhood known as Cambrian has a special place in our hearts. With familial roots for multiple generations & tons of childhood memories made (Jason grew up there!), it's a place we frequent with our own kids with great pride and enjoyment.

While the market has driven the affordability aspect a little farther from the ballpark than we have seen in the past, it’s better known for top schools, tons of family friendly offerings (that Camden Community Center!), its own Farmer’s Market, a viable commute to the usual Silicon Valley suspects and of course… the iconic Cambrian Park Plaza. Since this charming community lacks the official downtown that Los Gatos or Campbell has, this quirky and cozy hub on the corner of Camden and Union has served as the area’s distinguishing landmark for decades.

While you have likely heard that the renowned carousel will stay as a homage to the center’s beloved mid-century signage, the latest plans revealed last week show a future commitment to add housing units, enhance retail and entertainment offerings, provide community gathering opportunities and even allow for open space!
