California Vs. Santa Clara County: Housing Data Drop

If you have been wondering how the housing market activity in Santa Clara County compares to the rest of the state as a whole – this week’s all-new Homes of Silicon Valley blog is for you! Based on March data from our monthly real estate report and the California Association of Realtors®, we have created a quick graphic to reveal how home prices, active listings, days on market and sales to list price ratios compare between the state and our local county.

While it’s no surprise that median home prices in Santa Clara County are more than double that of the state, is notable that California median home prices surpassed $800,000 for the first time in 6 months and have set an all-time record high! In addition, note that listings are up across the state but down in our county – despite remarkable home price growth and rising sales to list price ratios. This is further evidence that demand remains high here in Silicon Valley while supply fails to keep pace.

The opportunity for sellers is clear, the market for buyers is challenging. If you are making a move within our county, across the state or considering a relocation, please do not hesitate to reach out to review strategies, get a complimentary home valuation and/or talk about timing.

Homes of Silicon Valley is always here to help you decide the next right thing – for you.
