levi FUTURE OF SPORTS SAFETY

It’s been a year since Levi Stadium has held a game, but that does not mean the hopes to hold events have been diminished. On the contrary, the 49ers leadership has formed an advisory committee with “top physicians from UCSF and beyond to recommend a plan for fans to reconvene at the Santa Clara stadium.” With hand selected medical experts from infectious disease and global medicine specialties, the committee strives to create a series of best practices and protocols that could serve as a model for stadiums across the nation. Connected by sports, motivated by science. Sounds like a plan!

e scooter AI Now Onboard Link Scooters

The latest installment of artificial intelligence (AI) in San Jose is underfoot – literally! Link e-scooters are now deployed with AI to ensure that riders are following speed limits, avoiding obstacles, avoiding banned areas and more. San Jose Spotlight reports that “each scooter has five computers that constantly scan, repair and flag mechanical components for maintenance if needed. Its AI technology can also sense certain rider behavior, such as going too fast or off a curb.” The City of San Jose’s transportation department has applauded Link for addressing some for the challenges of e-scooters and gives credit to Link for “working these issues before they even had a product to launch on the street.” If you are looking to take an AI-powered spin, you can find one of Link’s 400 e-scooters near San Jose State University, the Alameda and East San Jose.
