Do You Have An ‘Anytime’ Agent? | 3 Reasons You Need A Realtor When You Are NOT Buying or Selling

Did you know there are times when being a real estate agent feels a bit like being a ‘Ghostbuster?!’. People only call when there is something strange in their neighborhood…or more likely…a change in their lives that requires the buying or selling of a home. But did you know that you don’t have to wait until there is a downsizing dilemma or an overtly outgrown home to contact your real estate agents (that’s us!) for advice?

Here are three circumstances in which picking up the phone or shooting a text makes strategic sense ~ and we promise solutions that are anything but supernatural. (Image courtesy of Twitter: https://twitter.com/ghostbusters )

#1: Resources, Resources, Resources.

Maybe when we helped you find your home, we brainstormed some amazing things you might do with it! That 5-year plan of adding that pool, upgrading the electrical, creating a master suite…. If the time has come and gone and your best laid plans have taken a longer snooze than you expected – give us a call! We are always happy to share our amazing network of contractors, electricians, roofers, painters and more. If you need a great insurance agent, CPA, real estate attorney – we also have many trusted and vetted peers we’d be honored to recommend.

#2: Spin-Free Market Clarity.

Have you ever turned on the news and one station reports that sales prices are at all-time highs, only to chnage channels and hear that the market is tanking? Did one neighbor’s home sell in 12 days at 10% over asking, while another’s sat on the market for 45 days and sold below list price? Sometimes the real estate word on the street is as clear as mud, and we consider it our role and responsibility to dig thru the data and deliver the details objectively. Feel free to contact us anytime you hear conflicting information, or just want some updates on what’s happening in your micro market. We also have a monthly report we can send – so email mark@homesofsv.com to join the list!

#3: Valid Value.

It’s no secret that hundreds (if not thousands) of websites report that they can tell you the value of your home in 9 seconds or less. While we always wish convenience for our clients, we do not wish for big decisions to be made based on big oversights that are common in online valuations. Whether you are considering a home equity loan, talking to your financial advisor about your home as an asset or working with an estate planning attorney – it’s the individual insights that count in making an accurate assessment. Please feel free to reach out for a custom, comprehensive analysis of your home; we’ll carefully calculate the value based on your home’s current condition, upgrades or needs, unique features and local community conditions.

(There is a fourth reason you may wish to contact your real estate agent even if you are NOT buying or selling ~ just to say hello! While we admit we really like houses, we enjoy the people who buy/sell them even more. Seeing and hearing how your home has positively impacted your lifestyle or goals is one of the biggest compliments we can receive. )

As you can see, we are here to be your advocate for anything you need related to what matters most to you – home, family & finances. If you aren’t sure you have a truly ‘anytime agent’ rest assured, you do now. ;)

All our best,

Mark & Jason
