There really is no place like home for the holidays – and that is especially true here in Silicon Valley! There are so many things to do, you may wonder how to fit them all in. From the classic favorites of Christmas In The Park (now with walking & drive-thru venues), Vasona’s Fantasy of Lights (which is now sold out) to driving down Glen Eyrie in Willow Glen with hot cocoa in hand… the options are endless and the memories are forever.

PAWS FOR A CAUSE

Pet photos with Santa are a thing – and for a very, very good reason! This Saturday, December 18th, Orion Dog Training is holding a fundraiser for the San Jose Animal Care Center (which has faced unprecedented challenges this year). With pre-registration, your pet can take up to 3 photos with Santa (two and four-legged family members welcome) for $25. Proceeds benefit the San Jose Animal Shelter! December 18th Only.

FARM FUN FOR ALL

The South County often honors the area’s agricultural roots with farm and animal opportunities abound. One such way to experience awesome acreage is happening this weekend at Five Star Farms in partnership with Fairytale Farm & Wiley’s Wish. Puppies, ponies and holiday swag… what more could you need? AN ALL-NEW LIGHTED MAZE & ICE BAR

Have you heard of Enchant Christmas, making its San Jose debut for the first time this year? As the world’s largest maze and Christmas Village, this Hallmark Channel production features animated light sculptures, ice-skating, interactive games as well as shopping and dining. Attendees report that the cost is high but the experience is tons of fun. (One unique way to chill out for those aged 21 & over is the 14-degree ice bar. Parkas are free – icy cocktails can be purchased.) Note that ‘Night Owl’ tickets offer a substantial discount if you want to enjoy the last 2 hours of the night at this village in PayPal Park. GOOGLE PRESENTS ALOHA DOWNTOWN SKATE

Traditions change and evolve and the Circle of Palms adjacent to Christmas In The Park has undergone a transformation this year. While Downtown Ice has not returned to downtown San Jose, you can still roller-skate under the palms instead! Aloha Downtown Skate offers a new way to enjoy the longstanding tradition of curved pathways under lighted trees, now featuring LED lights and disco theme with DJ! Now thru Jan. 8th.

HOLIDAYS AT FILOLI

Have you been to Filoli Gardens lately? Have you ever been there at the holidays? A historic home filled with holiday cheer, a vibrant winter landscape and twinkling lights from morning until night… yes please. With a theme of “Let Inspiration Glow’, a day or evening trip to Filoli is a great way to make your spirits bright whether attending alone or as part of a family tradition. Now thru Jan. 8th.
